Roaring Robotics is Looking for a New Home
This is Awkward…
We’ve lost our home. The business which has generously hosted us since 2017 had to shut down in 2020 due to economic conditions. We no longer have a build and meeting space. But we do have:
A great team of 20-some students who like to make and build stuff;
About a dozen mentors for the team; and
Much of the tools and equipment needed to create terrific robots for competition.
Anyone want a fantastic robotics team?
As a team, we’re pretty much plug and play. We’ve got funding and our own stuff. We just need place to meet and build. The space could be unused space that an organization may have. Alternatively, it could be a temporary space such as a vacant retail or industrial space up for lease. (We’ve done that before.) Ideally, we’d like to be near the Interstate 88 & 355 corridors Wheaton to Downers Grove, IL. Of course, any organization providing us space would certainly get sponsorship credit. Talk to your accountant - there may even be an opportunity for a tax write-off as we are an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Want to Learn More or Think You Can Help?
Can’t offer up a build space, but have a student who’d love to be on our team (once we find a build space)? Contact us anyway. We are collecting contact information for those interested in joining our team.
March 14, 2020
A gloomy day at Make-It-Here, Downers Grove. The team had just learned that the 2020 season competitions had been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, we also learned that Make-It-Here was shutting down. It was our last meeting there. The dreariness and snow were appropriate for the ocassion.
